On the afternoon of March 29, the launching ceremony for the international communication event of "Opportunities in China's Amazing Xizang" and joint action on the public interest project "Safeguarding Picturesque Xizang" was held in Lhasa, capital city of Xizang Autonomous Region.
During the event, the China International Communications Group (CICG) Center for Europe and Africa (China Today), the Xizang International Communication Center, and the Beautiful Pact Special Fund of CFCAC signed a cooperation agreement to establish the "Beautiful Pact Public Welfare Communication Studio", marking a deeper collaboration among the three parties in the field of eco-promotion.
Additionally, Xizang will invite the global public to participate in the "Opportunities in China's Amazing Xizang" multilingual video and multimedia content campaign. Participants are encouraged to submit video and photo works showcasing Xizang's landscapes, environmental initiatives, biodiversity, and low-carbon lifestyles, highlighting the beauty of Xizang, promoting eco-friendly values.
Currently, Xizang has established 47 nature reserves, covering a total area of 412,200 square kilometers. Ecological zones with strong environmental functions—including forests, grasslands, wetlands, and water bodies—have expanded to 1,081,100 square kilometers. The population of Tibetan antelopes, which had dwindled to 70,000 in the 1990s, has now rebounded to over 300,000, demonstrating remarkable achievements in biodiversity conservation.
