Recently,The Marbo Tso Site in Kangmar County, Xigaze City, Xizang, has been selected as one of China's top 10 archaeological discoveries for 2024.

Recognized as the highest-altitude, earliest-dated, and longest-continued Neolithic lakeside settlement yet discovered in the central-southern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the site boasts an exceptionally clear cultural sequence and distinctive indigenous characteristics. Excavations have unearthed over a thousand artifacts, including stone tools, pottery, and other relics.
