The Tibetan antelope, a first-class protected animal in China and hailed as the "Sprites of the Plateau," has embarked on its yearly reproductive journey. Recent monitoring data as of May 4 released by Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve revealed that the first group of 65 female Tibetan antelopes crossed at Kilometer 3001 of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, advancing toward Zhuonai Lake in the Hoh Xil region within the Yangtze River source area of Sanjiangyuan National Park. This movement marks the commencement of their seasonal migration to calving grounds.
