In recent years, the civil affairs departments in Xizang have attached great importance to employment assistance for orphans by guiding 7 cities (prefecture) and 11 children's welfare institutions to take effective measures to create conditions for orphans to integrate into society and achieve self-reliance and independence. So far, 1,430 orphans have been helped to get employed.
