In Nang County of Nyingchi City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, there's a type of diamond that isn't mined from the ground but "cultivated" in a laboratory. These are lab-grown diamonds. In May 2024, Nang County Dashan Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the first diamond cultivation project in Xizang. Under laboratory conditions, it can produce a 1-carat diamond in just one week. Currently, the products are mainly exported to countries in Europe, America, and Southeast Asia.
