Recently, the Nyalam Customs introduced that the Zham Port in Nyalam County, Xigaze City, China's Xizang Autonomous Region, has gradually recovered from the stagnation following the devastating "April 25" earthquake in Nepal ten years ago and has now developed into a "golden corridor" for smooth external and internal trade. Over the past decade, the port has cumulatively supervised 227,600 tons of import and export goods, with a total trade value of 5.776 billion yuan(RMB), and facilitated 570,000 cross-border passenger trips.

In the first quarter of 2025, Nyalam Customs reported a 105.73% year-on-year increase in the export of new energy vehicles under its supervision. Leveraging micro-innovation projects, the customs authority has enhanced inspection accuracy, leading to the first seizure of approximately 2g of cannabis this year. Additionally,  it successfully facilitated the General Administration of Customs' review of the "Preliminary Screening and Identification Laboratory for Harmful Organisms and Invasive Species" within its jurisdiction, enabling rapid identification of four common quarantine pests in the low-altitude regions of the southwestern Himalayas.

Since last year, five alien species have been intercepted for the first time at the Zham Port.
