From January to April this year, Xizang exported 105 tons of locally grown fruits, marking a year-on-year increase of 125%, with the number of exporting orchards rising to four, according to Lhasa Customs.

At the fruit packaging workshop of Xizang Shangcheng Health Industry Co. Ltd., located in Nyingchi City, workers were loading boxes of fresh apples onto trucks. After passing the inspection and quarantine by officers from Nyingchi Customs, under the jurisdiction of Lhasa Customs, these apples are set to be exported to Nepal.

"Our company has planted 3 km² of apples in Nyingchi, and the products are mainly exported to Nepal and Singapore. The customs has provided us with the standards of the exporting countries and also opened a green channel for the customs clearance of fresh fruits, allowing us to enjoy preferential policies like 'on-demand inspection' and 'immediate release upon inspection,' truly achieving 'fresh export,'" said Li Longjing, the person in charge of Xizang Shangcheng Health Industry Co. Ltd.

Fresh apples and other agricultural products are characterized by strong seasonality and perishability, posing extremely high requirements for logistics and customs clearance efficiency. To ensure the efficient export of Xizang's agricultural products, Lhasa Customs has formulated targeted support measures following the principle of "one enterprise, one policy." It has held symposiums with import and export enterprises, established a coordination platform between customs and enterprises, and implemented the "key enterprise liaison person" system.

The head of the Animal, Plant, and Food Inspection and Quarantine Department of Lhasa Customs introduced that to help Xizang's fruits go global, Lhasa Customs collects and dynamically shares with enterprises the technical trade measures for fruits in major exporting countries, assists enterprises in improving their quality and safety management systems, and provides services such as testing technology and the formulation and revision of standards for specialty products to promote the "compliance at the source" of exported fruits.
