As the core area of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, the ecological environment of Xizang has received special attention and protection. More than 50% of the land area of the entire Xizang has been included in the ecological protection red line, and all seven cities (prefectures) under its jurisdiction have been named national ecological protection and construction demo area. Today, the forest coverage rate and wetland protection rate have remained stable at 12.31% and 68.75% respectively. The health rate of rivers and lakes is 100%, and the proportion of days with good air quality has reached 99.7%. The water quality of major rivers and those flowing through important towns has all reached Class II standards. The development of the clean energy industry has achieved remarkable results. The integration of rural revitalization and ecological improvement has continuously released the effects of ecological enrichment and benefits for the people. The concept of green living has deeply rooted in the daily lives of the people.
