Over 90% of the population in old Xizang lacked proper housing, living in extremely poor conditions where humans and livestock shared quarters. By 2024, the per capita housing floor area has reached 49.31 square meters for urban residents and 41.32 square meters for rural residents in Xizang. People of all ethnic groups in Xizang have now universally achieved the goal of "living in adequate and secure housing.
