In 2019, with the support of government guidance and ecological management policies, Xizang Green Source Organic Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd. transferred 2.33km² of desertificated land in Ngagzha Township, Chanang County. After three years of arduous trial planting, they successfully screened out high-quality asparagus varieties that fully adapted to the unique plateau environment, giving rise to the brand "YaZang Legend."

According to tests by authoritative institutions, the "YaZang Legend" plateau asparagus boasts outstanding quality advantages: its sweetness is about 30% higher than common varieties, with a fresher and sweeter taste; its free amino acid content is significantly increased, enhancing its umami flavor; it is also rich in beneficial components such as flavonoids and rutin, with higher nutritional value than ordinary asparagus.

With its unique quality, the plateau organic asparagus has successfully entered the high-end market, completing its first trial sales in Hong Kong to enthusiastic reception. To meet greater market demand and extend the industrial chain, the company invested 10 million yuan to establish freeze-drying workshops for producing freeze-dried asparagus. It plans to fully expand into the Hong Kong market while actively exploring export channels to Europe and America.

Thriving industries invigorate rural areas, with tangible results in linking and benefiting farmers. Land transfers have provide the village collective with stable annual rental income. A total of 186 farmers and herders have transitioned into stable industrial workers. For skills enhancement, the company collaborates with agricultural departments to offer an annual average of 200 class-hours of "field training," cultivating a new generation of professional farmers proficient in drip irrigation and organic standards. Villager Tsedrup shared his heartfelt thoughts: "In the past, the wind and sand hit our faces, but now, they turn into money! I sell livestock manure to the company, earning an extra 20,000 yuan a year. My wife works at the cold storage sorting center with a monthly salary of 5,000 yuan. Combined with my income, our family's annual earnings have increased by over 80,000 yuan."

According to statistics, by the end of 2024, the project had cumulatively increased local residents' income by 63.8 million yuan, with the average annual income increase per core participating household reaching 35,000 yuan. Ngagzha Township, once known as the "sandstorm village", is now transforming into a vibrant "asparagus town." Even more encouragingly, nine cooperatives will join the company's cold chain logistics project this year, establishing a long-term benefit-sharing mechanism where "every household holds shares and receives annual dividends."

"In the past, vegetables from Xizang couldn't make it beyond Lhasa. Now, our plateau asparagus travels to Hong Kong in refrigerated trucks. This is the power of a quality revolution!" exclaimed Li Dongping, the company's chairman.

Looking ahead, the company plans to invest an additional 380 million yuan to scientifically and systematically expand organic asparagus cultivation to 2.33km², aiming to build "the world's highest-altitude organic asparagus industry belt." This is not merely a corporate blueprint but also a vivid example of Xizang leveraging technology and ecological priorities to explore high-quality development of modern plateau agriculture and promote comprehensive rural revitalization.
