The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit is just around the corner.
Following a piece of film footage more than 30 years ago, China News Network revisited some of Tianjin's most iconic landmarks.
Much has changed — new energy vehicles have replaced old bicycles, and high-rises now stand where smoke once rose from tiled rooftops.
And yet, Tianjin remains the same in many ways: the moon still shines over bridges on the Haihe River, and teahouses still echo with laughters over crosstalk performances.
The city keeps pace with modern times, yet carries within it the spirit of openness and ease.
This autumn, Tianjin will host the SCO Summit — welcoming guests from across the world, raising a glass together for the future.
Here, we meet the SCO.
Here, we witness the brilliance of Tianjin.
