Nyemo, meaning "ears of wheat" in Tibetan, is not only renowned as the hometown of Thonmi Sambhota, the creator of the Tibetan script and Tibetan incense culture, but also the birthplace of Tibetan writing and the source of Tibetan incense culture. In recent years, the county has deepened efforts to develop its incense industry, driving increased income for local farmers and herders. In 2024, the output value of Tibetan incense in Nyemo reached 44.325 million yuan, and as of 2025, the value had already hit 27.5742 million yuan.
