A waterfall in Medog County, Nyingchi, Xizang, has been confirmed by a professional team from Chinese National Geography to have a drop of 1,452 meters, significantly surpassing the previous world record holder — Venezuela's Angel Falls (979 meters). Located in Medog, known as the "Sacred Land of the Lotus", the waterfall has been officially named "Lotus Falls" in consultation with its discoverer, Li Cheng.
