He is Tsewang Rigzin, a master of Tangka embroidery, and also a member of the Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Before 2012, he worked as a veterinarian and herdsman. A decision by the township government to launch a Tangka embroidery training program that year changed his life. Since then, the former veterinarian has picked up paintbrushes, embroidery needles and threads, bringing the embroidery Tangka of Namling County to the whole of Xizang stitch by stitch.
