Ernst Steinkellner, a leading figure in the Vienna School of Buddhist Philology and a pioneer in European Buddhist and Indological studies, has been awarded the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art. He co-published the 26-volume "Series of Sanskrit Texts in Xizang Autonomous Region", which is widely acclaimed as an authoritative international academic achievement in Sanskrit studies.
