“Sherchen” is a genre of Tibetan folk song and dance, distinguished by its unique performance style, richly layered lyrics, and ancient, resonant melodies. It is primarily practiced in Shannan, Lhasa, and Xigaze, among other areas of Xizang. In 2019, the “Sar Sherchen” of Dingkye County, Xigaze City, was inscribed onto the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of Xizang Autonomous Region.
