Xizang received over 69 million domestic and foreign tourists from January to November

Recently, according to the Culture and Tourism Departmentof Xizang Autonomous Region that from January to November 2025, Xizang received a total of 69.4848 million domestic and foreign tourists, with total tourism expenditure reaching 79.838 billion yuan.

From January to October this year, Xizang conducted a comprehensive survey of 58,447 tourism resources, among which 31,748 were newly discovered and classified. Additionally, 19 new high-quality scenic areas, 4 regional-level tourist resorts, and 14 national 4A-level tourist attractions were established. The "Why Xizang: A Study Tour" program was selected as one of the national intangible cultural heritage-themed tourism routes, while the "Snowy Shangri-La: Flower Sea Exploration" route in Nyingchi City was included in the national list of high-quality rural tourism routes. Gongbo'gyamda County was designated as one of the second batch of national-level demonstration zones for cultural industry-driven rural revitalization.

A total of 1,080 cultural and artistic performances under the "Gesang Flower Blossoming Initiative" were staged at scenic spots across the region. Other successful events included Xizang's "Inheriting Culture through Clothing" Fashion Culture Week and the "Taste of Xizang" Gourmet Experience Week. The 2025 Xizang ESports, Animation, Culture, and Tourism Week generated combined online and offline sales of 7.56 million yuan. The theatrical production Princess Jincheng was selected for the second batch of nationally recognized highquality tourism performances. More than 100 enterprises were organized to participate in various cultural and tourism industry expos, achieving over 10 million yuan in online and offline sales. A series of preferential policies, such as the "Winter Tour in Xizang" campaign, were implemented, contributing to a total cultural industry output value of 12.274 billion yuan in the region.

In terms of digital and intelligent cultural tourism, brand matrices such as "A Glimpse of Xizang, A Lifetime of Memory" have been developed. The "Xizang Public Culture Cloud" has uploaded 1,480 intangible cultural heritage-inspired creative works, offered 306 art popularization courses, and benefited over 2.5 million people. The cultural and creative IP "Zang Mao Mao" was recognized as an innovative typical case of new business formats and scenarios in the "culture and tourism +" integration, while the brand image of the "Come to Xizang to Pick Stars" campaign was selected as a typical case of tourism marketing and promotion.

At the same time, 15 delegations comprising 315 individuals were dispatched overseas for cultural exchanges, and over 180 international travel agents from 18 countries were invited to visit Xizang. A total of 18 high-quality tourism routes to Xizang were launched, and the operation of 25 special tourist trains to Xizang was facilitated. The region received a cumulative total of 7,929 inbound tourism groups comprising 62,147 people.
