Recently, two fully loaded Chinese container trucks smoothly cleared customs under the supervision of the Gyirong Customs, affiliated with Lhasa Customs, and departed for Nepal. This marks the first time that the Xizang Autonomous Region has achieved cross-border transportation using Chinese container trucks, representing a new milestone in the facilitation of China-Nepal international road transport.

For a long time, cross-border freight transport between China and Nepal primarily relied on Nepalese container trucks, requiring cargo to be transloaded at the border. This not only affected efficiency but also increased the risk of damage. To promote innovation in cross-border logistics, Gyirong Customs proactively collaborated with local governments and enterprises, provided policy guidance throughout the process, and utilized the "Smart Eagle Eye" system to monitor logistics and transportation status in real time, extending the regulatory chain. Additionally, by implementing measures such as "advance declaration," "immediate inspection and release upon arrival," and "paperless customs clearance," customs clearance time at the border has been reduced by over 50%, significantly lowering logistics costs for enterprises.

"We actively strengthen communication and coordination with other customs authorities to address difficulties and obstacles encountered by enterprises during transportation and develop tailored clearance solutions," said a relevant official from Gyirong Customs. "We will continue to optimize the border clearance environment, improve logistics efficiency, and inject strong momentum into regional connectivity and high-quality foreign trade development."
