At the happiness home in Che Village, Dingkye County, situated at an altitude of 4,300 meters, elderly gather to play "Xiu Zi", holding cups of warm butter tea in their hands. "The facilities here are complete, and life is fulfilling," said 78-year-old Gyaltsen with a smile. What gives him the greatest peace of mind is the regular door-to-door medical service—doctors frequently visit to check his blood pressure, guarding the health of the elderly. After the 6.8-magnitude earthquake at the foot of Mount Qomolangma on January 7, 2025, PhunChong from Tsa Village, Dramtso Township, Dingri County, gave birth to her son, Tsering PhunChong, in the early morning of the following day. Now, one year later, Tsering PhunChong celebrated his first birthday in a spacious, bright, and warm new home.
