In 2025, the total import value of goods trade in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region reached 2.351 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year (the same below) increase of 74.4%, with the growth rate ranking first in the country.

Reportedly, diversified trade methods injected strong momentum into the growth of Xizang's goods imports. In 2025, general trade imports amounted to 1.752 billion yuan, an increase of 44.2%, accounting for 74.5% of the total import value and continuously solidifying the fundamental base of imports. Processing trade with supplied materials and imports of equipment into special customs supervision zones were newly established business segments, with imports valued at 416 million yuan and 73 million yuan respectively, emerging as new driving forces behind import growth.

In terms of the import commodity structure, mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products, and energy products ranked among the top three imported commodities, with import values of 937 million yuan, 764 million yuan, and 510 million yuan respectively. Among them, imports of high-tech products increased by 568.5%.

Meanwhile, Xizang's trade partner landscape continued to expand. In 2025, Australia, Germany, and Hong Kong, China became the top three import sources for Xizang, with their combined import value accounting for nearly half of Xizang's total import value. Notably, imports from Hong Kong, China increased by 19 times, becoming a new highlight of regional economic and trade cooperation.

In addition, there were prominent highlights in imports related to people's livelihood. In 2025, imports of consumer goods reached 192 million yuan, up by 57.7%. Among them, imports of daily chemical products, cultural and recreational products, and medical and health care products increased by 119.8%, 500%, and 2200% respectively.
