Norbulingka, located in the western outskirts of Lhasa, Xizang, was first built in the 18th century. Served as the summer palace for the successive Dalai Lamas to conduct political affairs and escape the heat, it consists of palaces and Tibetan-style gardens, renowned as a treasure of the highlands.
