"Gesar" singers are primarily concentrated in Xizang's three major pastoral regions—Nagqu, Qamdo, and Ngari—with Nagqu at the core. Currently, there are five female "Gesar" singers and over 170 recognized representatives of the "Gesar" epic tradition in Nagqu City.
