In 2025 and during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–25), the ecological and environmental quality in Ngari Prefecture continued to improve. The annual targets were successfully achieved, with the compliance rates for air and water environmental quality reaching 100%. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the ecological security barrier became more robust, with the area of ecological conservation red lines reaching 190,800 square kilometers. The rate of ecological civilization demonstration at all levels reached approximately 70%, and a breakthrough from zero was achieved in carbon trading.
