The Lalho Water Conservancy Project, a major national water-saving and water supply project and a key initiative in Xizang, has achieved remarkable results since its trial operation at the end of 2020. With a total investment of 4.95 billion yuan, the project provides irrigation, power generation, flood control and other functions. To date, it has supplied a total of 530 million cubic meters of water. The afforestation survival rate in the irrigation area has risen from 65% to more than 85%. Formerly barren land has been turned into fertile farmland, strongly supporting the development of highland barley, forage grass and other industries.
