Located in northern Xizang with an average elevation of over 4,500 meters, the Changtang National Nature Reserve is home to rare wildlife such as Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks, and snow leopards. Since 2015, the Xizang Autonomous Region has established 73 wildlife protection stations across Changtang, now staffed by 780 full-time wildlife rangers. These rangers carry out regular patrols, monitor wildlife conditions, and prevent poaching and illegal cross-border activities. With an intimate knowledge of animal behaviors, they serve as the ecological guardians deep in the "no-man's land."
