Source:xzxw.com 2026-05-11

Stone carving in Kangmar County, Xigaze, Xizang, boasts a long history, with the Shaogang cliffside Buddhist sculpture group dating back to the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties still preserved today. Born into a family connected with stone, Tibetan craftsman Guoji Quba spent years mastering the Kangnuo Mani stone carving technique, which integrates quarrying, carving, and painting. He etches Xizang's mountains, rivers, and landscapes onto shale, depicting the magnificent plateau scenery with the edge of his chisel.
