Recently, a research team from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences discovered a new species in Medog, Xizang— garlic nutmeg, a new variety of the genus amomum. This discovery enriches the record of Zingiberaceae plant resources in southeastern Xizang.
