On May 24, the Lanzhou Marathon kicked off (also serving as the Asian Games marathon selection race) , with three Tibetan athletes competing. Tsering Chodron claimed the women's domestic title and secured a spot at the Asian Games. Tashi Tsering took third place in the men's domestic category and earned a place on the Asian Games training squad. Sonam Tsering finished sixth in the men's domestic division.
