On World Environment Day 2026, the State Grid Xizang Electric Power Company announced that since the Upper Jinsha River–Hubei UHV DC transmission project went into operation at the end of 2025, Xizang has been able to send over 40 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to other regions each year. According to the plan, Xizang's clean power transmission capacity is expected to exceed 18 million kilowatt-hours by 2030.
