During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Qamdo's clean energy installed capacity is expected to reach 123 GW, with 300 billion yuan in investment. Annual generation is projected at 240 billion kWh, saving 72 million tonnes of coal and cutting CO₂ emissions by 192 million tonnes annually — which would complete the national clean energy base in eastern Xizang.
