The 47.46-kilometer S5 Expressway in Xizang connects Lhasa and Tsetang, shortening the distance between the two cities by about 65 kilometers and reducing travel time to just one hour. In addition to facilitating travel for local residents, it has also spurred growth in tourism, agriculture, and animal husbandry, further promoting high-quality regional economic development.
