The annual Ongkor Festival recently took place in Zhaxi Choden Community, Shannan City, Xizang. Dressed in festive attire, people raised colorful banners and held highland barley ears symbolizing a bountiful harvest, walking around the fields to pray for good weather and abundant crops. “Ongkor” means “turning around the fields” in Tibetan — a traditional harvest festival in Xizang and a nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage.
