Shannan City achieved a regional GDP of 16.229 billion yuanin H1

In the first half of this year, Shannan City achieved a regional GDP of 16.229 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, ranking first in the region. By sector, the primary industry generated 515 million yuan, up 12.1% year-on-year; the secondary industry generated 7.499 billion yuan, up 7%; and the tertiary industry generated 8.215 billion yuan, up 6.9%.

During the same period, fixed-asset investment in Shannan reached 12.406 billion yuan, up 9.3% year-on-year. Private investment stood out with a remarkable surge of 44.9%, exceeding the regional average growth rate by 29.2 percentage points.

Behind these figures lies a well-targeted policy package. In the first half of the year, Shannan initiated 283 new key projects with a total investment of 9.712 billion yuan. Among them, 39 major projects— each under the supervision of a department-level official— completed 4.745 billion yuan in investment, accounting for over 30% of the city’s total. Progress accelerated on a number of key projects exceeding 100 million yuan in investment, including the Jiexu Hydropower Station, Cona General Airport, the Sare Road Cross-River Bridge, and the first phase of the Qonggyai Wind Power Project.

Funding support also increased. In the first half of the year, Shannan secured a total of 3.465 billion yuan in funds from the central budget, the regional budget, and ultra-long-term special treasury bonds— an increase of 725 million yuan compared to the same period last year. The city also introduced a rapid evaluation mechanism for government-invested projects, reviewing 55 projects in the first half of the year and reducing expenditures by 74 million yuan.

The primary industry performed well, with output increasing by 12.1% year-on-year, ranking second in the region. During the first half of the year, 422,600 head of livestock were sold, and meat, milk, and egg production reached 43,000 tonnes, up 9% year-on-year. The grain sown area totaled 392,000 mu, with an estimated total output of 175,000 tonnes.

The secondary industry showed signs of recovery, with output growing by 7% year-on-year. The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 1.727 billion yuan, up 0.2%. Among them, manufacturing output reached 781 million yuan, up 23.7%; the electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply sector reached 360 million yuan, up 8.6%; and construction output reached 5.282 billion yuan, up 13.1%, ranking first in the region. In the first half of the year, Shannan cultivated an additional 8 industrial enterprises above designated size, bringing the total to 46.

The tertiary industry grew steadily, with output increasing by 6.9% year-on-year— also ranking first in the region. Retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.005 billion yuan, up 5%, ranking first in the region. Through a series of promotional campaigns such as trade-in programs and consumption subsidies, a total of 56.6 million yuan was invested, directly driving 305 million yuan in consumption. Sectors including air transport, retail, real estate, and scientific research and technical services all recorded growth rates ranking first in the region.

In the first half of the year, Shannan also made steady progress in education, healthcare, and social security. Funding per student for free preschool education in agricultural and pastoral areas increased from 380 yuan to 1,000 yuan; 238,300 urban and rural residents completed health checkups, with a coverage rate of 89.63%, ranking first in the region; and social insurance coverage reached 359,200 person-times, basically achieving full coverage among the legally eligible population.
