The 14th Sports Games of Xizang Autonomous Region and the 6th Traditional Ethnic Minority Sports Games are in full swing in Xigaze City, with the "Yajia" Tibetan-style strength competition events presenting splendid and exciting moments.

Yajia, also known as "elephant tug-of-war", is a distinctive traditional ethnic sports event in Xizang, and it is also an official competition event of the National Traditional Ethnic Minority Sports Games. The competition follows strict and standardized rules: contestants put a special silk strap around their necks, with the strap passing between their legs. Both sides face away from each other, support themselves on all fours and exert force backward. They compete by dragging backward with the combined strength of their necks, shoulders, waists and legs. The contestant who first pulls the pendant in the middle of the strap to their own winning line wins the match.
