The improved seed breeding base in Kheme Community, Nedong District, Shannan City, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, has ushered in a bumper harvest of Zangqing 3000, a variety of Qingke (highland barley). Guided by agricultural extension personnel, local farmers and herders have produced high-purity, high-quality seed stock, providing solid support for the wider promotion of improved barley varieties across Xizang.
