Recently, a rural revitalization symposium focusing on ecological protection and technology empowerment was held in Kangzha Village, Bayi District, Linzhi City of China's Xizang. Experts and scholars from multiple universities and research institutes across the country gathered to offer advice for the smooth advancement of Kangzha Village's "PhD Farm" project and to explore a new model for high-quality development of plateau specialty industries.

Kangzha Village is located along National Highway 318 and enjoys excellent ecological endowments, but it has long faced development bottlenecks such as a weak industrial foundation and insufficient technical support. To overcome these challenges, Kangzha Village has taken the initiative to change, introduced scientific research resources from universities, explored a co-construction model of "universities + local government + enterprises + village collective", and established the "PhD Farm". Through technological empowerment, it has achieved "planting, flowering, and fruiting in the same year" for plateau pear trees, breaking conventional planting assumptions and providing valuable practical data for the industrialized development of plateau fruit cultivation.

At the symposium, the expert team held in-depth exchanges on the development of "three products and one standard" (variety, quality, brand, and standards), ecological environment monitoring, upgrading sewage treatment standards, and the integration of medical care and elderly care. They believed that Kangzha Village should leverage its pristine ecological advantages and, through top-level planning and scientific and technological support, transform ecological resources into benefits for people's livelihoods.

A relevant official from Bayi District said that next they will make every effort to provide service guarantees, accelerate land planning adjustments and supporting infrastructure, and support the "PhD Farm" in becoming a demonstration benchmark for rural revitalization in Xizang.

At present, relying on the "PhD Farm", Kangzha Village is actively building an industrial system integrating technology-driven agriculture, ecological agriculture, and cultural tourism, striving to transform resource advantages into high-quality development advantages and paint a new picture of plateau rural revitalization.
