The 5th Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) was held from Sept. 23 to 27 at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center. Xizang Autonomous Region organized a delegation of 37 exhibitors, 6 buyers and business associations to attend.

Xizang's exhibition area was themed "Cloud Xizang, Shared Prosperity Through Digital Trade". It drew on Xizang's unique resources and geographical advantages to highlight plateau characteristics, digital empowerment, and open cooperation. The area comprised five sections: advantageous industries, distinctive industries, integrated development of distinctive industries and e-commerce, Silk Road e-commerce, and digital technology. It showcased specialty products, e-commerce brands, digital applications, and cross-border trade achievements in a coordinated way, helping quality Xizang products reach online and overseas markets and enabling distinctive industries to upgrade through digitalization.

Exhibitors included representatives of traditional advantageous industries such as specialty agriculture and animal husbandry, ethnic handicrafts, and green food, as well as innovative companies specializing in new business models such as e-commerce livestreaming, cross-border trade, and digital services. Qingke (highland barley)products, yak products, Tibetan medicinal materials, and cultural and creative products were showcased, attracting many buyers, platform companies, and trade visitors, who stopped for discussions thanks to their strong plateau appeal and digital displays.

At the expo, Xizang's Agricultural and Livestock Specialty Products Exhibition and Sales Center and the Xizang Autonomous Region E-Commerce and Commercial Logistics Association also hosted livestreams to promote quality products from the snowy plateau to global buyers and audiences.

"Through the GDTE platform, we aim not only to raise the profile of quality products from the plateau, but also to attract cross-border e-commerce companies from other parts of China, especially those interested in the South Asian market, to set up operations in Xizang," said Wei Mengjie, operations supervisor of Lhasa Zangni International Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.

In recent years, Xizang has continued to deepen the integration of e-commerce and distinctive industries, foster new business models such as Silk Road e-commerce and rural e-commerce, improve its e-commerce supply chain, logistics distribution, and brand cultivation systems, and open up digital channels for specialty products to reach broader markets, for advantageous industries to upgrade, and for opening-up to become more effective. The delegation's participation served as both an important window to showcase Xizang's digital trade achievements and a key platform to connect with global markets, pool high-quality resources, and deepen economic and trade cooperation.
