In recent years, Lhasa has continued to deepen the building of "Digital Lhasa," implemented the "Digital City Revitalization" initiative, continuously upgraded its digital infrastructure, steadily elevated the level of the digital industry, continuously highlighted industrial clustering effects, and made digital dividends benefit the public.

Lhasa has prominent strategic location advantages. It is a core carrier of Xizang's digital economy and an important computing power node in western China under the national "East Data, West Computing" project. Relying on two core hubs- the national-level internet backbone direct connection point and the regional international communications gateway - it has continuously enhanced its capacity for digital opening-up and serves as an important window for receiving nationwide digital resources and carrying out cross-border digital cooperation.The computing-network foundation has been upgraded citywide. Lhasa was successfully selected among the first batch of cities for the national "Millisecond Computing" special action. It has been built into a "dual-gigabit city" across the board, with 8,413 5G base stations, achieving full 5G network coverage in administrative villages.

At the same time, domestic intelligent computing and green computing power projects are accelerating their implementation. China Mobile's 150P domestic intelligent computing project has been lit up and put into operation. At present, Lhasa has 3,271 digital economy enterprises, including 40 above designated size, accounting for 56.3% of Xizang's total.In 2025, the revenue of above-designated-size digital economy enterprises reached 9.377 billion yuan(RMB) in Lhasa, with the growth rate up 16.2 percentage points from the previous year.

Making digital dividends benefit the public is the fundamental goal of Lhasa's digital economy development. In recent years, guided by the people's urgent difficulties and pressing concerns, Lhasa has coordinated computing foundations, platform building, and scenario application, and achieved phased results in the digitalization of people's livelihood. In smart elderly care, it has built an intelligent safety supervision platform covering 25 elderly care service institutions citywide, enabling real-time warnings for risks such as fire, electricity use, and missing persons, effectively improving safety guarantees for the elderly. In smart community building, Cisongtang Community has built Xizang's first 10G optical network and AI application demonstration site, shifting grassroots security from "human defense" to "technical defense."

In smart government services, relying on a locally deployed government large model (based on a domestic general-purpose large model foundation), it has promoted "face-scan processing"and "zero-material"services. The approval and issuance time for individual industrial and commercial household business licenses has been compressed to five minutes. This practice was selected as a typical case of Digital China construction in 2025 by the National Development and Reform Commission.
