In Tibetan, "lingka" means "garden" or "park." "Going lingka" refers to outings, picnics, and camping, a traditional leisure activity for Tibetan people. Recently, the Lhasa Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism completed the compilation of "Lhasa Lingka Illustrated Guide," an urban cultural reader that systematically reviews the history of lingka and lists representative lingka sites in Lhasa, now available to readers.
