There used to be only six bridges over the Nagqu River in Serni District, Nagqu City, Xizang — far from enough for smooth travel. Many villages were separated by mountains and river, forcing residents to make long detours. People on opposite banks could only see each other but had great difficulty crossing. Now, five new bridges have been built and four others renovated along the Nagqu River. These safe, modern, and well-connected bridges have opened up new routes across the river, greatly improving movement for local communities on both sides.
