Recent years, rural education in Gonggar County of Tibet's Shannan Prefecture has been greatly improved. The compulsory education in rural areas Of Gonggar has basically eliminated high dropout rate.
"There are 2 junior high schools, 13 primary schools and other 24 places of learning, with 5934 students and 550 teachers in this county now," according to Tsering, the head of Gonggar County. "Education for all-around development is in full operation, and gap between urban and rural education is obviously shorten."
