Thanks to the national special group assistance project, the children do not need to pay for their rehabilitation. They also receive transportation and accommodation subsidies.
The Sinopec Primary School built by state-owned Sinopec as an aiding project, sits 4,700 meters above sea level in the small, remote county of Baingoin in Nagqu.
Through years of efforts by local government, free preschool education has been extended to distant pasturing areas.
"Teachers from Tianjin University taught us about electricity, space exploration and photography. (They were) enlightening lessons... Among them all, I enjoyed the photography class they gave us the most," said Karma Dechen, a fourth-year student at the No 1 Primary School in Samdrubze district, Shigatse, Tibet autonomous region.
