Reconstruction and expansion of Tibet Museum to complete in June

The reconstruction and expansion project of Tibet Museum, a major public cultural project benefiting people during the 13th Five-Year Plan in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, is progressing smoothly. The new museum is expected to be completed in June.

At present, constructors are carrying out curtain wall construction, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment, security, fire protection, heating and ventilation engineering, indoor fine decoration, water supply and drainage, landscape and other work.

The total investment of the project is 660 million yuan RMB, all of which is within the budget of the central government. It covers a total area of 65,000 m², with a construction area of 58,000 m². The construction area mainly includes exhibition, collection and preservation, public service, cultural relics protection and research, comprehensive office and underground garage, etc. After completion, it will comprehensively enhance Tibet Museum's exhibition, collection and other public service functions, and turn it into a domestic first-class and internationally influential modern museum.
