It is reported from people.com.cn that China Tibetan Music Industry Base was opened in Lhasa, the capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, on December 26. Musical experts, Tibetan cultural professors, songwriters and excellent singers, coming from Tibetan areas of Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan and other two provinces, attended the opening ceremony.

Thanks to the constant development of personal communications and digital technology, music creation, music industry, musical communication and consumption has changed significantly. Zangpo, deputy director-general of the Culture Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, said that Tibetan music industry, one of the important Chinese ethnic culture industries, enjoys great market potential and broad development space. However, at present, the development of Tibetan music, in a disperse distribution, is small-scale and weak. Because of that, the China Tibetan Music Industry Base was founded, which will promote the construction of Tibetan music industry comprehensive system.

The main work of China Tibetan Music Industry Base will study and construct the Tibetan music repository and original Tibetan music base. In addition, China Tibetan Music Expo promoted by China Tibetan Music Industry Base will be set up. Besides, China Tibetan music cloud service platform will be put into operation, which become the professional Tibetan music cloud service center.
