Recently, the list of "2016 national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration counties (cities, districts)" has been published by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China. 74 counties (cities, districts) are selected in this list, among which 3 counties in Tibet, namely Lhoka City's Gyaca County, Chamdo City's Mangkam County and Ngaqu Prefecture's So County, are also included.

Since 2012, 6 demonstration counties and 9 demonstration points in Tibet have been selected in this list.

Leisure agriculture and rural tourism are new carriers to promote the integrative development of thefirst, the secondand the third industry in rural areas in Tibet, as well as new functions to promote the economic development in agricultural and pastoral areas and new ways to lead farmers and herdsmen to get rich. In addition, leisure agriculture and rural tourism also play an important role in promoting the supply structure reform of agriculture and animalhusbandry, building the new socialist countryside, and establishing a beautiful Tibet.
