Before the big day of Losar (Tibetan New Year), Tibetan people change the weathered prayer flags on their own house roofs to welcome the arrival of next year, and pray for abundant harvest, good luck and happiness. Thus in Tibet, we can see prayer flags blowing in the wind on almost every house roof.
An unchangeable order of the flags' color is strictly arranged as blue, white, red, green and yellow from top to bottom. As Tibetan people put their faith and goo wishes on the great nature, these colors stand for different natural elements: blue sky, white cloud, red fire, green water and yellow earth.
