It is reported that total output value of Tibetan medicine in Tibet Autonomous Region has exceeded 1.3 billion yuan RMB. Tibetan medicine system has been established.

SomeTibetan medicine has been sold in inland cities’markets, which is also greatly welcomed by their customers. Moreover, 15%-20% of Tibetan medicine purchasers in Tibet are tourists from inland cities.

At present, there are 18 Tibetan medicine production enterprises in Tibet, all of which have passed the state GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice) standard, according to the related department.

Tibetan medicinal materials are mostly collected from plateau area with high altitude, large temperature difference and strong sunlight.

Tibetan medicine formula is mostly composed of herbaceous plant, which is effective in treatment of some difficult miscellaneous diseases, said Nyima Tsering, head of Tibetan traditional medical college.
