According to the Cultural Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, folk art troupes have been covered in all 74 counties in Tibet, which can not only enrich people's spiritual life, but also protect and inherit Tibet's intangible cultural heritages.

There are about 2000 performers in all art troupes at county level in Tibet. The works are diversified, small-size and closely related to the masses. By performing traditional Tibetan operas, songs and dances and cross-talks to the masses, folk art troupes effectively make up some shortages of professional art troupes such as limited performances and service coverage area.

At present, folk art troupes can create 800 programs every year. In addition, they can give 2000 performances in rural areas and receive 1 million audiences.
