Chamdo City is the only ethnic minoritypilot city among China's first batch of digital protection pilots for intangible cultural heritages. At present, the digital collation, collection and record work has been finished for its 6 state level intangible cultural heritages, which realizes the modern technical protection of ancient culture and art. In addition, all the digital achievements will be shared on the national digital protection management platform.
Wang Kangqiong, deputy director of Intangible Cultural Heritages Office of Chamdo Cultural Affairs Bureau, says that there are about 75 items of intangible cultural heritages among rich eastern Tibetan culture. In recent years, Chamdo Mangkang string music, Dengqen Rerba dance, Karub Karma karchi painting, ancient salt production technique of Mangkang salt well, Jomda Bolo woodcut engraving art, Mangkang three-stringed dance, butter sculpture skill of Champa Ling Monastery, and Chamdo Guozhuang are selected as state level intangible cultural heritages.
In addition, the digital record work of Karub Karma karchi painting and Jomda Bolo woodcut engraving art is expected to be finished in two years.
